October at the zoo

It’s a beautiful fall afternoon in our town; sunny skies, a light breeze blowing and temps in the low 70’s.  Schools are out on fall break so Pops and I decided to take our grands to the zoo.

The joy of children seems to be boundless.  We have annual zoo passes so have been several times, yet each visit is like the first for a child.

“Look Gigi! It’s a meerkat!” Or “Come on Pops- let’s go see the tigers.”

Tigers were hiding today but we got some other great pics.

Note to self (and others): go to the Knoxville Zoo in the morning hours.  We’ve done afternoon twice and animals go in for a rest before you can see all of them.
